A cross section of a parabolic reflector is 14 meters across and the focus of the reflector is 5 meters above the vertex. Write an equation for the cross section of a reflector opening upward with its vertex at (0,0). What's the reflectors depth?

How do you know if a quadratic equation will have one, two, or no solutions? How do you find a quadratic equation if you are only given the solution? Is it possible to have different quadratic equations with the same solution?

I need help figureing out what the answer is to this problem. P(x)=-x^2+110x-1,000 using the quadratic formula with P being 5, 50, 120. I don't understand how to do it so if you could show your work I would greatly apprectiate it. THanks.
